by Danica Winters
Whether you find love between the pages of a Vampire novel or with the swipe of a finger in a Mary Jane romance, there is something that unites all lovers of a Great Romance novel--the guarantee of a Happy Ending.
Within romance you are made a promise, a promise that you will end the book feeling great, love has conquered evil and that there are great things to come in the character`s futures. Yet, there are two different types of "Happy Endings" (no snickering from my perverted readers). There are two main categories, the HEA: Happily Ever After (hello, The Nymph's Labyrinth) and HFN: Happy for Now (The Vampire's Hope).
I love writing books with both types of endings. If I let my characters always walk off into the sunset it would not only be boring for readers, but it wouldn't be a challenge for me as an author. I like to create situations where we aren't always sure that things will be sunny in the end, but we hold out hope for our beloved characters.
There has been a lot of talk about the characters Ellie and Ian from The Vampire's Hope. (I don't want to give you a spoiler.) But for those of you who have read the story I promise there is more to come. Ellie Smith is a hard-headed no bull**** type of woman/Vampire... and I envy her strength. I, like many of my devoted readers, want to take her place and be able to kick butt when the opportunity presents itself. And more than anything I hope that she and Ian will get the HEA... Maybe someday?
As A Thank you, we are going to presenting another wonderful Giveaway for the Paranormal Romance Fans for Life!

ReplyDeletea christmas carroll HEA
I like endings that are satifying. Doesn't have to HEA or HFN just as long as it has a good ending. No cliff hangers.
